Combined Cycle-based Carbon Capture

MHI possesses full in-house capability and experience to design, manufacture and integrate all of the key equipment required for both coal fuelled Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power plants and natural gas fuelled Combined Cycle (GTCC) power plants with carbon capture and storage facility.

For example in an IGCC plant such equipment includes the power generation island - gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, the gasification island – gasifier, air separation unit (ASU) and syngas cooler, plus the carbon capture equipment - acid gas removal (AGR), sulphur recovery, CO2 capture and compression.
